Just wanted to ask for your help.

We're doing two new things right now and would like for anyone and everyone to join in.

New or old, don't be worried, these items are both about fun. I see a lot of people looking at the threads, but not necessarily joining in.

First. Check out the rub/sauce exchange. This is a new idea started by a forum Member, PadreFan. The idea is that everyone that volunteers, will send a gift pack and receive a gift pack. Minimum $$$ and shipping cost involved.

Rub and Sauce Exchange
Don't hesitate, drop on by and join in

Second. CS Reunion. This one only has a few people joining, but if I'm going to be able to pull it off I need a whole lot more people signing up. I'm hoping newbies and lurkers won't feel intimidated, that this really is about just talking BBQ and swapping BBQ stories and learning.

Stop on by and check it out and sign up if you can. If there is something that could be added or changed to either idea, just join in the fun and let us know what you think.

I have a great source of whole choice briskets from Tyson that I can buy for $2.00/lb that I would be happy to bring with when I come. Would 4 or 5 be enough? I age them myself so would be aged and froze ahead of time and ready to smoke when I get there. I would be more than happy to donate these to the cause!! Come on people we needs lots more to come to this.

Now that's an offer I might take you up on. The only thing is I might buy a case of the Contest Briskets I use (not Tyson) also.

We'll sort out the $$$ together, CS is going to help with some $$$ there also. I'm POSITIVE everyone coming will particpate however we can.

I'm planning on getting the FEC500 for the weekend, so cooking Butts/Briskets overnight would be easy enough to do.

Awesome idea and thanks for volunteering!!!!
As "hot" as the CB?

Technically it should. My CB has 3 burners, each one is similar to the PG, but I don't use my FEPG much for just grilling, I use it for combo cooking. Any more CB questions let's open a new thread.

But...

That's one of the advantages of coming to the Oklahoma City CS demo area (otherwise known as Smokin Okie's Deck)... LOL

I just haven't decided if I want a FEC120 or a PG500 or something else.

Please have that CB fired up with a big discount coupon, if I lose the GPS directions on the deck, I may stumble into someone with an order form.

I'm 90 miles from Ponca City but if you want to arrange that with CS, you'll have to ask them when you order. Don't know who is coming down from CS (depends on which weekend).

Worst case I might have specials for anyone showing, but if it's not very many people, we may not have much luck.

REALLY depends on how many people come.

You could also drive to Ponca on the Friday before or the Monday after to P/U anything if needed.
I have the equipment, I'm almost positive CS isn't bringing down anything I don't have (like a PG500) unless we have a HUGE turnout. If there are only a few people, just doesn't make economic sense to bring everything (they don't have a traveling road show of equipment... just my deck)

BUT...

If we have it, we'll see what people are interested in and see what we can do.

I live in NW OKC. Google OKC and Ponca City and you'll see general distance/details.
Thanks Russ. I am certainly interested in a PG500 to sit beside my FEC100. Last I saw they were back ordered? Must be selling well! It will be replacing my gas grill. I will be checking with Cook Shack to see if anyone will be coming your way to save some freight on hickory pellets. Picking up a PG500 at your place would save freight as well. Just tryin to plan ahead.
Coach and I are cooking the Chest to Chest National Brisket contest in Great Bend KS at the end of February,as well as the KCBS comp. That and travel plans in March preclude finances to make travel to the reunion possible - unless I latch onto a luck Powerball ticket Smiler

The Sauce/Rub exchange sounds interesting. I'll probably jump on board but wont have to time to read thru the details until next week. It's been a busy month.

Judged that a few years ago.

I can't believe you want to go to Great Bend KS instead of my deck...

I have purchased a new pair of walking shoes just for the deck tour. Thinking about a water bottle as well. Glad there will be 37 different Cookshack units cooking. Can't wait.
