Had too cut down a old peach tree in my yard that had died. Just wondering if this type of wood is good too smoke with? Anybody out there knows let me know ... Thanks
I've read that it is similar to apricot, which I have used in the past. I tried the apricot on pork loin and it was sweet and fruity beyond my tolerance. If you like pork with sweet chutney or lamb with mint jelly it might be to your liking.
There are a couple teams in GA that use it,mostly for advertising,and it won't hurt anything.If you are looking for much smoke flavor,you may need to use much more than with nut woods.
I use peach sometimes. It has a tang to it. Very nice for ribs. Be careful if buying on the internet. Some folks sell punky branches that were pruned from an orchard...not good eats.
