Pellets

I use Fast Eddys Pellets they don't have near the ash as when I used the 2 bags of Treager Pellets I got with the cookers.

Where are you purchasing Fast Eddy's Pellets. What I am getting from Cookshack are Treager.

I only purchase pellets directly from Eddy. Love his hickory.

A Traeger distributor told me pellets west of the mississippi come out of Oregon and those east of the Mississippi come out of Alabama. He also said they are not the same from both locations, Oregon uses Alder and Alabama uses Oak for binders. Is it true, if so, I wonder which location Eddy gets his from since people seem to like them better then the ones from Traeger?

There is a group of us in central Fl that get a pallet at a time from Eddy,and we've been happy with them for years.

We had used the old Traegar pellets,but understand that they have a base different than the old alder.

I don't know where Eddy gets them.

The Traeger distributor left out a few locations. Eddy's pellets do not come from Alabama, but they do use oak as the binder.

I don't think Candy's pellets come from Alabama either, as she is in Arkansas.

Have never used FE's pellets, but have used Candy Sues and Traegers. Candy Sue's are much,more better then Traegers.

Eddy's pellets are made in Missouri. That plant's had a couple of fires this summer and is down for repair. Been sending heating fuel business to us.

LJ is right, I believe, on the geography of Traeger pellets origin.

Bottom line -- get pellets from whichever manufacturer/distributor is closest to you and most convenient to you. Freight is very expensive. Just cook often and use lots!
