The 100% hickory has to be ordered from Eddy himself, you can go to the members page and look up his profile"Fast Eddy" and send him a private message.

I've used CS hickory blend and Candy Sue's BBQer delight pellets in oak, apple, cherry, pecan, hickory, and have some charcoal and wine soaked oak, yet to try.

All in all, at home I like the hickory blend mixed with some Cherry, but I'd imagine few folks could tell much difference in the pellets,oh well.

Would like to try some of Eddy's 100% Hickory thou.
My complaints about traeger are about flavor. There is none. I've just found that their % of "flavor wood" is lower and they just don't taste good.

I also think that a lot of the filler wood is alder (although I think their silver bag is supposed to be oak based from Alabama) and whatever % it is, there is just too much ash compared to other brands.

If that's all you got, I understand, but the CS stuff, BBQ Delight, FE's brand are some of the ones I use.

All my retail outlets in Toronto only sell Traeger too. Call Cookshack and find out if they have a rep near you - they will sell you pellets
That is what I did and now I pay less than 1/2 of what I paid for the Traeger pellets!!
I never had to many quality or BTU issues with Traeger pellets except our local guy wanted like $20 per 20# bag for them, + tax! His dealer cost is more than I pay for BBQ delight shipped to my door.

I actually like their mesquite better than any I've used. The alder tasted like pine but isn't that what alder is, (kind of?)
Ya Know smokin..now that I think about it you're right. I have always noticed that I did not get the smoke flavour that I had expected. The funny thing is that I had nothing to compare the flavor to.I went from a webber charcoal grill to an FEC. I had not even heard of BBQ Pellets before. When I began to use the FEC I was more concentrated on the cooker and getting everything right. After more than 100 cooks I still did not listen to the little voice in my ear saying..somethings missing Rob. My FEC is great and I have no complaints about it's ability to produce an incredible product.. but I am still not happy...with the flavour..I would love a little more wood. So here I go in search of a better Pellet. I'm going to contact my cookshack dealer in Toronto and see what they can do for me. Thanks a bunch for your help..you make this forum great!
I ordered a half-ton of BBQ delight which was mixed between suger maple, mesquite, pecan, hickory, 100 percent hickory, apple, cherry and maybe a couple of other flavors I can't recall. BBQ delight pellet fuel is usually 60/40 Oak/flavorwood, which is good; as it gives a consistant burning temp. I did get some 100 percent hick from them and it burns OK, but is a little too much smoke for jerky. I like sugar maple for jerky.
I was getting ready to place my pellet order for the year to beat the spring rush later and saw that BBQ Delight has a charcoal pellet. Has anyone used these and if so what did you think?

Figured I would mainly use them on our traeger grill at higher temps for doing steak sandwiches, burgers and such but they may be good on brisket and other types of beef when smoking?????

I will get a few bags anyway to try but wanted to see what others thought.
