PG-1000 losing power until up to temp

I've had a PG-1000 for about 4 years now, and love it. Recently, I've been having an issue where the power to the unit cuts out until after the firebox reaches self-sustaining temps. I've tried replacing the GFCI, extension cords, direct connecting the unit, in otherwords, all the standard troubleshooting, but I'm still seeing this. I've also mostly ruled out the house wiring.

Anyone seen similar behavior to this?

My PG-1000 fan always shuts off when grilling at 500 degrees in 90+ degree weather. It's done this for years. Very annoying, but I've learned to live with it. May or may not be the same problem as yours. I would be delighted to learn if their is a fix.
