I have been wanting a front shelf for some time but also wanted it easily removable. Here's what I came up with. The shelf is a 48" SS shelf, with the supports having keyhole slots cut for the attachment. They line up with the PG1000 vertical "legs". I drilled and tapped an attachment point on the upper keyhole thinking I would need all for for support. Happily the top two provide ample support. I inserted the upper screws with Loctite and tightened them down just enough to allow the assembled shelf keyhole to slide on. The shelf is easy to remove for cleaning, yes it does hinder the controller and smoke drawer somewhat....but the positives of a front shelf far outweigh having to bend over a little to change settings or access the drawer.
