friend is giving me two small pigs he doesn't want to feed anymore. one is supposedly about 30 lbs, other is about 50. I have no place to feed them so-to bad for them. I pick them up today-supposedly/hopefully already gutted. May take the larger one to processer, as my wife doesn't want me cutting it up around where my son might see it. the smaller one? may throw it in the smoker whole (skinned)- maybe just cut in half to fit the pieces in (model 055). 30 lbs live wt. would maybe be what 10-15 lbs gutted/skinned etc.. Some parts will be thicker than others -hams vs ribs. will that be a problem? any thoughts/ideas/experience with little pigs like this

Yum, them small pigs should be good.

I wouldn't skin them. You gotta plunge them into a barrel of boiling water and back out and then you shave them clean. Yep, head and all.

I would chop the small one into 3 pieces. shoulders/front legs, hams/back legs, and the middle part with the ribs and belly.

Cook/smoke the shoulders/front legs and hams/back legs together if you want, to whatever temp you like your butts. I would do the middle portion alone, however you do your ribs.

I might do the 50 pounder the same.

Anyone else have better advice?

Cool
