HELP – I'm Freaking Out. I have a new FEC100 and I would very much like to bring it to Shannon Il in a couple of weeks for the IL State BBQ Championships.
PROBLEM – I have been told the FEC100 requires 300W for PowerUP and will run on 20-50 Watts when fuel/heat is required. I DO have an e-mail into Customer Service (Bill Vice), and I have viewed the detailed messages here and it appears I SHOULD have enough power for at least a 14hr cook, but here are the details;

1200W Marine Battery + 1,000W Cobra IC Power Inverter. After checking with Cobra, they said the Inverter will ONLY pull the required Watts needed to power the FEC100. There is NO minimum Watt requirement to run the inverter. The inverter ran for 4 hrs continually pulling 300W and would spike to 320-340 when the auger/heater kicked in.

Why would the FEC100 continually be pulling 300W. Anyone experience this?
HELP – Time is short .

A couple of weeks? Hey, no freak outs allowed unless it's the Friday before a contest Big Grin

Relax young Jedi, the Jedi Masters will help you out.

Instead of an email them to them, call CS and ask him direct what the exact pull is.

1. It's highest when the igniter is on (first few minutes)

Then it SHOULD drop substantially.

Keep reading there are multiple posts (some with the exact figures) I just don't have time just now to find the details.

The 100 doesn't require 300W an hour to run.

It will also depend on which model (IQ or non-IQ)

There have been some posts with how much it requires.

I've run 2 FEC 100's, non IQ for 18 hours at a comp, no problems.

Did you run a test? I couldn't tell for sure from this statement:

Are you saying it only ran 4 hours and quit?

Is it a deep cycle or regular? You said 1200W but how many amps is the battery?

Will there be no power? I'm sure they'll have some.

You can also hook up a charger to the batteries to trickle charge while the FE's are running on the
The distirbunce in the FORCE is no more...Thanks to BILL is CS, the Jedi will be cooking on the FEC in Shannon...seems I have a bad ingniter relay....whew Roll Eyes

Again, the FORCE is strong and I will also be able to complete my final practice run this weekend...2-14 lbs shoulders, 2- 12 lbs briskets, 4-Spares and a hell of a lot of chicken... Big Grin
