On my brand new SMO 45, my probe is 15-20 degrees lower than temp from same area with instant read pocket thermometer. Put probe in water just off boil, and measured 192 degrees. Is there an adjustment screw somewhere? May I have connected it wrong?

Thanks

Chris Carstens

(PS, brisket still came out fine!)

End of the story -- Monday, I got my new probe and the problem is solved. Right now, I have two packer briskets in the SMO45, on an overnight cook for a party tonight. CS probe is in one, trusty old Maverick probe thermometer in the other, both in the same spot on the brisket. About 4 degrees apart now at 9 hours into the cook, which is about what I would expect just on differences in the briskets.

THANKS, COOKSHACK. All the rumors about your customer service being the best appear to be TRUE.
