For a couple of years now, I've been following the forum and several times came close to pulling the trigger on a purchase, but didn't. Why? Basically, because new cookshack owners seem to have alot of problems right out of the box. I've got a home built UDS, Weber kettle with a Smokenator, gas grill, and about a year and 1/2 ago, bought a pellet smoker. From day one, I have had no problemo from that smoker. I'm sure there are many satisfied Cookshack owners out there. I guess I'm just a fuddy duddy skeptic.

One thing about a forum, especially one that specializes in one type of manufacturer or say piece of equipment. You hear about the problems and not the accomplishments. Why, because people look to the forum for advice on fix's or repairs.
You will not find a smoker or a company that takes care of you like cookshack does. You can see that from the responses you read on this forum that I do not exaggerate. Good luck on your next smoker purchase but I dare say if it's not a cookshack you might be selling yourself short.
Following the forum for several years? Then you should have seens posts that:

1. New owners talking about how good/easy/better it made their Q.

2. Every ONE of those "issue" posts were resolved by Cookshack Customer Service. You've never seen ONE post where CS didn't stand by the smoker, even after the warranty period. I'm not sure people realize that but a lot of stuff is past warranty and CS still stands by it. It's about OWNERS to Cookshack, not just simple Customers.

3. Money back guarantee.

Nobody said you have to buy one but we're glad you're here asking. You can keep dropping by and lookin'. Nothing wrong with a UDS, or kellet or even a gas grill but I'm not sure about a Smokenator Wink

If you have a pellet grill and all those others, what are you looking for, is there something missing in what you have? Can we answer anything specific.

I always say, there's really no wrong way to do Q, just people that don't know a better way to do it.
From day one, I've had no problems with my Cookshack.

In the past 24 hrs. two owners posted these comments about Cookshack smokers:

"It was a work of art, I must say. My father in law told the wife it was the best piece of meat he had ever tasted. This guy is 85 years old and his family owned the Portland meat market back in the day. He has cut, sold and eaten it all. I think this is the first thing I've done right in 34 years of being married to his daughter Thanks to all of you on the Forum and of course Cook Shack."

"Santa ordered up an Amerique for me and it's due Thursday. Just in time for Christmas Eve Prime Rib.
This is the 5th Cookshack smoker I've purchased in 10 years (home and restaurant use) and I remain an ardent fan."

Never heard of a problem with your pellet smoker on its forum? No forum? Then you wouldn't know if it has had any problems.

Speaking as someone who's purchased five CS smokers, I've never had an issue with any of them. Had there been one, I'm 100% convinced it would have been resolved by the best customer service team in the business.

best of luck and happy smoking.
I have had my AmeriQue for a little more than 3-1/2 years and have used it a minimum of 1 to 2 times per week. Many times 3 or 4 times in a week and have had 1 minor problem that Cookshack took care of in a super fast manner.
It is built extremely well and holds up extremely well.
I have had Webers, Klose, Oklahoma Joe, Good One and Backyard smokers, nothing like a CookShadk.
Give it a try, 30 money back is the best factory testomonial there is!
Hey OD!,

You and I have something in common, yep, I've never had a problem with my smoker either, from day one. In fact I have a case of briskets in the freezer and figure on thawing one out for next weekend. I figure on an all night smoke, but you can bet I'll get a good nights sleep, oh, and I'm not worried about what the weather will be like...snow,rain,windy...just bring it on. Not bragging, just stating a fact on what a fella has in store when you cook on a CS.

I'm glad your smokers have worked so well for ya, but until you've experienced a CS a guy can only wonder if it can be that simple. By the way it took me about a year before I decided that I had to experience for myself,oh well! To each his own.

Have a Happy Holiday!

Cal,
Really, a year, gees, took me about a week to figure out how to talk the wife into getting me one for Christmas last year, took me about a week before that to figure out I didn't want a stick burner, after that the decision was all but made.
"Stand by your man...", Tammy said that and you Cookshackers certainly and expectedly are doing that. Fast Eddy is a regular contributor on the pellet forum and I would absolutely love to own a FEC100.
As for staying up all night, putting a 15pd. packer brisket in the GMDB tonight at midnight on 180 degrees, which won't vary 5 degrees all night till I kick it up to 225 at 8 AM. Shucks, 6 hours of sleep at a wack is about all I can muster anyway, being an old, retired geezer! Merry Christmas to all, and to all a happy Q!

And we're not just blowing smoke (no pun intended). I used Kingfisher, Good-One, Big Steel Keg, and some upright water smokers before getting the FEC100 and wouldn't get rid of it for anything. Impressed me enough that my FE/PG1000 should be on its way next week. Customer service has been mentioned, and you won't find a nicer group of people than the folks who work at Cookshack.
Yep, no problems at all with my CS. Just wish I would have bought it years ago. Heck, I've made pulled pork when it was -5 and snowing like crazy. Came out just as good as when I make it in the summer. And it only added about a half hour of cook time. Now that I've experienced the good Que I can make at home, I can't go out to most of the "BBQ" places around here because my Que is better than theirs.
