Since I have been soundly admonished for putting a pipe on Ms. Smokette to vent outdoors, I have been placing her near the garage door. I open it a smidgeon to vent. Anyway, the location also happens to be dang close to the woodstove...which in our house is a huge coal, wood, diesel burner. We usually do wood, and it gets pretty warm around there. Will this affect the thermostat in Smokette? Confused

Andi,

Unless the temp variation in your garage is exceeding the 1000 degree insulation of the oven, I don't think that the ambient temperature will effect things to the point where you'd notice it. I cook all th time here in Georgia when the outside temp is in the 90's, with the oven sitting on the porch in the sun. I've never had any problem with the thermostat here (in my VAST experience of about four months!)
Gee, Cog, I'm at 4 months, too! Do we get a coin or something? "My name is Andi Flanagan, and I'm a smoke-a-holic! Been smoke-dependant for 4 months!"

I need to do more in my CS. After the scrooms, the Pastrami, and the fishwurst, I aim for the Big Time Pit Que!

Thanks for the heads-up on the temp thing. Razzer
