and not the football game. I prepared some turkey tenders in my trusty CS yesterday. My intention was to pull them out after one and one half hours. Then I began drinking numerous strengtheners and watching the Sooners. At about the four hour mark I remembered that I had them in the CS. Needless to say, they were grossly overdone. The sad thing is that they are the best tasting ones I have ever done. They won't go to waste as I am going to chop them and use them in salads. Mrs. Bodkin has been laughing at me all day for my indiscretion. Have any of the rest of you had this happen or am I the lone sap here?

The only good news here is that the Sooners won.

lol, you're not alone drbotkin. That's why I make it a point to have all the cooking finished before the game starts!

There are 2 reasons behind this:

1st is the obvious. If you finish cooking prior to the start of the game, your motor skills are prolly all still in tact!

2ndly, If you wait until 1/2 time to eat, and the game is going poorly for you and your guests, you prolly wont get the praise you so rightly deserve for such fine que!
A couple of Sat's ago I had some beef short ribs marinating. Wife & I went to tavern in mid afternoon... just cause we could. Only had a couple. Wink Went home, started charcoal (yes these were gonna get grilled!) all is well. Put meat on the grill, closed the lid, sat on the futon in the garage.... Next thing I know the wife is IN my face asking me to please tell her all the smoke coming out of the grill isnt our dinner. One of the 6 ribs was edible and the wife got that one. Chalk that up to one too many adult beverages I suppose. Or a comfy futon!
