Remote-Reading Thermometers

I have been using the Maverick ET-73 for a couple of years now. Other than range problems, I have been very happy with it. Especially the high & low alerts you can set for the smoker. That is really nice.

Maverick talked about putting out a new remote therm but with longer range (300') but I have not seen anything yet.

I have had this unit four four years and it works great. I have three transmitters with it. Every once in a while you need to replace a probe. This happens with all brands.

for the new model maverick go to allied kenco. price is only 10 bucks more than the old one

The Maverick on Allied Kenco is the ET-73 which only has the 100 foot range. This is the one that has been out for a while. Not sure what you mean by the "new model." But if you really want one, you can get it for $39.99 at www.thegadgetsource.com
