I have been seeing RD referenced quite a bit.
I have one within a few miles of my house.

There website says you need to have a bussiness license to join. Does anyone know how strict they are on what type of bussiness.

I have a bussiness license and sales tax # but we are a building supply.

Someday you may not have that kind of luck when you really need something.

I find RD to be strict in Orlando. Sometimes I have to prod them a little to agree to the day pass. But as I get to know the people behind the counter it is getting easier.

The place is like Fantasy Island to a foodie. Check the markdown veggies sometime. I could make two gallons of mushroom soup with all the mushrooms I could get for under 10 bucks!

I keep a copy of the coupon in my wallet in case I need it. Usually I just give them some time to think about it and they come around on their own. They just want to be sure they aren't doing anything wrong they might get in trouble for.

Now I just walk in and say "Hi" and ask for a day pass and they type KCBS into the membership directory search and write me out a pass.

I've never had trouble with the pass. Sometimes they'll look at it funny for a little while, but once they follow the instructions on it, it's smooth sailing.

Actually I've noticed that more times than not, they don't ask for my KCBS card. I always have it with me, so it's never a problem.

Two ways of accomplishing the same thing. Good to know we each have a backup plan Wink

Cal, thanks for the pm. I went on just before and joined the KCBS. Only 35 dollars, going to RD will be a experience.

Does anyone know if I can bring a friend? Or even my husband (I didn't join KCBS family.)

Yes, you can bring other people in, but you'll have to check everything out using your day pass and settle up afterwards.
Remember...bring a jacket! The meat, cheese, and produce section is gosh darn cold! With that said, I keep forgetting to bring a jacket Red Face

They have fresh seafood also! I can get live Maine lobster for $7.99 a pound. I bought jumbo shrimp for the "barbie" a while ago for $7.79/lb.

Bring lots of money...you're gonna need it Big Grin

And coolers...plenty of coolers for the ride home...
If you go on to RD's website (www.restaurantdepot.com) you can look at their monthly sales flyer. From their home page, click on Specials and a new window will open up to allow you to select a state and then a city. Some specials only run the first two weeks of the month. But always good to browse through to see what might be on sale that you 'can't live without'. Jer

Why wait? Print out the KCBS membership confirmation email you received (mine's on my IPhone). Then print out the Restaurant Depot information for the RD receptionist from here, then head out to RD. I joined yesterday and am heading to RD today.

My wife has a day off today, and when she said, "Want to do something today?" You should have seen here look when I said, "Sure. Let's head over to Restaurant Depot."

And you can't get a jump on next month's flyer because they don't release it until the 1st of the month Frowner

My wife usually rolls her eyes and sits in the car when I say we're going to RD. But I never saw her refuse any "Q" so she likes the results if not the process.
My wife rolled her eyes and made jokes with my granddaughter before we left.

She spent more time looking at stuff than me and bought a few things for herself. She saw the big package of frozen gyros meat and suggested we throw a Gyros Party for our friends. Roll Eyes Back at her.

Funny. No tax on anything except for the broom we bought. Confused

RD didn't have my KCBS member number in their system today after joining only yesterday. They gave me a pass anyway. Print your email confirmation and take that if you haven't received your membership card from KCBS.

Pags,

I think they are looking only for KCBS's RD membership number not your KCBS membership number. KCBS has the membership, KCBS members are authorized by KCBS to purchase items at RD. At least that is my understanding of how RD's system works.

KCBS members cannot sign up to have the monthly flyer emailed to them because KCBS members are not RD members.

BTW-We like the tri-colored tortilla strips; a one pound bag for 3 bucks. They are good on salads or as soup toppers.

And you don't have to buy a case of most things you can buy single units from the case.

We like the sharp cheddar...a 5 pound block for 12 bucks and change.

Bought a clear sqaure cambro there last visit for brining turkeys in my beer fridge.

Will go to RD again on Sunday Smiler.
Well, my husband said what do you have planned for this afternoon, I said nothing. He needed to go to Lowes, so I said there is this place I would like to go to....

First of all, I wound up with a Globe C10 slicer! They had the best prices of all the websites I checked out. With NJ 7 percent tax is was 642.00. Can't wait to start slicing for Beef Jerky when that thing arrives, and it was free ship to my house.

After that, we wound up spending just over 300.00. I AM IN LOVE WITH THIS PLACE!!! My choice brisket, 11.34 lbs was only 2.66lb. I have never purchased a choice piece of meat so cheap in my life. Parts of it even look like prime. We also got a beautiful 4lb Grass Fed New Zealand flank steak and it was only 5.60lb. We cant get regular flank steak locally for less than 9.99lb. The list goes on.

My biggest question for everyone is, now that I am in the computer there, will I be able to go back? They gave me a temporary pass to shop for just the day, but does the KCBS membership allow you to go back again and again?
