It is nice to have this forum up and running again. Some time back a new CS owner was wondering about the effects of cold weather on the use of the CS. I now live in northern Minnesota and recently did a batch of baby backs in my smokette. It was 27 degrees below zero when I got up, and never reached zero. I did the ribs just as I always have timewise and otherwise. They turned out perfectly. I am convinced that the temp. plays no part with a CS unless one opens the door frequently.
On another matter, I tried a little experiment. I smoked the ribs, of course, from the get go, but for the fun of it gave them a little smoke at the tail end. Smokin is correct, too much smoke can actually detract from the flavor.
Again, it is nice to be back.
