Okay, I'll take the hint. Can someone more informed than I distinguish in writing between these three wet things: Slather; Glaze; Mop?

---If Martha Stewart lived in Texas would she say "slather" instead of "glaze?" Is a slather a tomato-based item?

---Is a glaze always a sweet thing?

---I presume you slop a glaze on near the end of a cook session? Or what?
---Do you ever glaze beef?
---One time I did some ribs with a sweet and sour sauce. Using hoisan sauce was very interesting, by the way. That goop (swee'-sow' sauce) would constitute a glaze, don't you think?

Thank in advance.

And then there's nap/baste/smother/coat! I love it when we talk semantics! LOL!

Jim Minion: Thanks for the Jalepeno Jelly hint. I made two cases this year that failed to gel, including a case of Tomato Preserves. Now, I have a delicious slather/mop/nap/etc. sauce! Poured some over a lightly smoked pork loin and finished in the oven and it was too die for! Wink
