SM 160 tripping breaker

Is it a GFI outlet? If it is, try plugging it into a non-GFI and let it run for 3-4 hours, then try it back on your original outlet.

It's a grounding issue. Maybe a quick call to CS and tell them exactly what you've replaced and what you've done.

If you've replaced everything and it's still doing it, then you haven't replaced everything

We called CS, not a lot of help. They said maybe a relay switch, but not sure.

trips both GFI & non-GFI outlets

If it's tripping both, then you have a voltage or short somewhere. Maybe an electrician. Not really heard this issue much.

Are you using an extension cord or plugging straight into an outlet?
Is it tripping the same breaker or when you move to a different outlet does it trip a different breaker?

Is there anything else that draws a lot of current that uses the same breaker?

I've had to replace breakers before because if they've been tripped too many times, they start tripping to easily.

we tried different out lets on different breakers, it still popped the breaker. We brought in our back up 160 smoker and it's working fine on the same outlet. The problem seems to be with the smoker not he power source.

It sounds like you either have a short in your power cord or one of the wires going down to the element. There could be a couple other things we could check as well. Why don't you give me or Tony a call and we can help troubleshoot. (800) 423-0698
