For Thanksgiving a local eatery sells turkeys that have been smoked then deep fried. Everyone who has tried one raves about them. We're having 20 guest for Christmas dinner and I was planning on roasting a 16# turkey in the oven and a 14 pounder in my CS smoker but being stupid or brave (depends on who you ask, my wife or me) I think I'll try deep frying one after it's smoked awhile. My question is how long do you think it should smoke in my CS to get a good smoke flavor before I take it out and deep fry it? Has anyone tried this?
