Welcome Michael. Turn the smoker off and unplug. Give it a minute or two and see if it resets. I can truthfully say that I have never witnessed an error code on my smoker. All I have ever seen is time and temp. Maybe a little more detail would be helpful: meat type, cooking to time or internal temp, probe used, etc.
Thank you OldSarge.
Before asking for four help, I "rebooted" the SM025: Smokette Elite: Cookshack Electric Smoker. It didn't change anything. I was lucky enough to reach after hours support. Their suggestion was to remove the top and expose the control board. Use a blow dryer on it ad try again. I did that. The only change was it appeared after the drying and restart, the on/off switch was not working. The 8.8.8. code disappeared and the temp reflected the control board temp. After re-contact with support they believe my control board has failed and it will be replaced. Thanks forum, hop this helps.
Thanks for getting back to us. Good to hear CS is sending a replacement board. When you get it, if it looks like it has some residue on it, CS told me that is a protective coating. I was cleaning my smoker years ago and thought some board component had leaked. Tech assured me I was OK and to leave it alone.
Kudos to off hours Support, Monday morning they advised that a new control board is on its way. Good job CookShack!
It would be difficult to complain about the support; always great!
