Smoking Woods

I recently started getting into grilling and smoking. i only have a small grill, not a big smoker, though.
anyway, i have a couple different trees in my yard, and i was wondering if any of them would be good for smoking. i know that the cedar is not good, but what about any of the following:
rose bush
rose of sharon tree
those one trees that have the whirly gigs that spin when they fall
a tree that has a bunch of pea pods hanging off of it

also, where bouts in southern oklahoma is a good place to get some fruit wood?

Pecan is plentiful in Oklahoma so check for some of that, it's a favorite for me. Not sure since you didn't say where you live, but check any wood suppliers that do logs.

Easiest is certainly through cookshack. A box will last a long time.
