Somethign wrong with Temp?

I just recently got the SM025 as a gift and had 3 successful smokes.

However today I am trying it again and I set the temp at 145 but it seems to be getting hotter and hotter according to the gauge on the display and its up now past 200 degrees.

Can anyone advise why this might be?

They have a warm up mode that will make the smoker run for 20 minutes on high, to get the wood started smoking....it then will settle back down to set temp.

^^^ Yep, what cal said. It'll run full tilt for 20 minutes. Just curious, whatcha smoking at 145? And welcome to the forum!

Thanks for that info!!! Really love my smoker!! cooked Salmon and it came out great! also threw a variety of sausages in there.
