Well, it appears that with the new platform (or maybe with Dara's departure from CS), there is now a wide-open avenue for spam on this forum. This does not bode well since there is apparently no spam filter of any kind and no one moderating the submissions for content. I have been reporting the posts as they appear, and the response was quick yesterday, but not today, when there were twice as many spam posts. I hope CS can fix this because independent of any other problems with the new platform, this could effectively shut down the whole thing pretty quick.

I think we can all agree this new forum is not a move in the right direction. While I rarely post I’m a long time FEC100 owner and Cookshack evangalist. I spent a lot of time lurking on the old Cookshack forum.
Forums in general are dying off, with many participants moving over to Facebook. Over on Facebook there are groups for a variety of BBQ manufacturers and pellet grills in particular. There is a lot of traffic - like the heyday of this forum years ago. Does anyone know if there is a Cookshack group? I can’t seem to find one. I’m a member of a pellet grill group and half of the posts are battles between Traeger and Rec Tec owners.
There has to be something better....
I've never been a fan or user of "Fakebook" and with the information released about them almost daily I'll never be one.
While there is much work to be done here, I'll continue to lurk here for awhile.
I'm with Mountainman.
I still lurk here, but I spend most of my time over at the BBQ Brethren.
I just noticed the "new" forum format, am on the BBQ brethren, Texas BBQ forum... not to disrespect this forum, or what the good folks at cookshack are doing for us. There are lots of places to lurk and try to learn about cooking, I still have my FEC, Traeger, and my 008, not as big of fan on facebook but there also on several bbq groups.
