strange things in the smoker | Cookshack

Now I see why folks use a 3ft piece of pipe and a cap for there exhaust! I got the FEC out to do a little smoking, it is stored in our attached two car garage, opened the door to vacuum the pot...there looking me in the eyes was a possum!!!

Guess he must have like the cozy little place between the two racks, cause he wasn't gonna leave, oh well! We came to an agreement and I'll not have to worry about him returning. Dang thing made me clean the racks, 1st time since I got the smoker this Spring, guess it was about time.

Has anyone else had anything strange in their smoker?

Wow Cal!! I hate a possum. They can get a little mean when they get backed into a cornner. I'm guessing he entered down the smoke stack?? Would have been even worse if it had been a mother nesting. Just my way at lookin at the brighter side of things.

Cal. Don't overcook it as they tend to get a little tough. LOL.

i own an FEC500 on a trailer....i was going 70mph at night and hit a deer with the hopper box. the smoker is as tough as nails.

My guess is the possum saw your smoker and said, that's the way I want to go. In an FEC. Death by FEC. It's all the rage!
