You're one hell of a guy. After spending nearly a month traveling in warm/hot climates, I returned to Chicago yesterday. Ouch! I share your pain.

Had the 1000 on tonight Temp is -5 with a wind chill of -25
cold weather is meant for BBQ. Esp. Sausage, jerky and the like. I remember having to warm the keypad up on my FEC 100 to get it to work, but after that, no worries!!!!!
Didn't know you had the "09" model? Still think it amazing when a feller can smoke in the snow and cold weather without the snow melting off the top.What is even more amazing is when it doesn't mess with the length/time of the smoke.

I bought my AmeriQue last Christmas, smoked all winter and early spring. Got busy didn't smoke all summer, then started again in the fall.
