Ya know the sayin' that sometimes you get lucky? Well last weekend I had planned to do a practice rib/chicken cook on Sat., but seen where they were having problems getting judges at the local Sam's event...so after a little nudging,Sonja and I decided to help the fine cooks out.

Long story short, see what I happened to find at the Sam's store after judging was over! Prime briskets for 2.38/lb.

I found 5, bought 4 and am gonna cook 3 for the memorial weekend, along with 2 PB's.

Anyone else cooking this weekend?

One of my friends has a cookout every year on Memorial day. He makes his "Famous Ribs" that "everyone loves". I know he smokes them a bit, then they find their way to the oven, then on the grill.... I asked him if he'd like me to bring over some pulled pork & smoked beans.

I'm gonna be having me some pulled pork sammiches!

Max,I assume this is for the restaurant as a holiday special?

Not many folks cook them just for practice and serving pulled pork to a bunch of already inebriated revelers. Eeker

Are you breaking it down into special offerings, etc.

Altho we have pure Berkshire producers in FL,it is usually 3/4 Duroc.

Interested to see how you feel about the "mouthfeel",aroma, and taste compared to market hogs.
