The brand i have is a SINBO. I got it off E-bay for $42 + actual shipping.
It has a little snout that extends into the bag. so it works fairly well on smooth bags.
I'd like to find some textured bags, to see if it works any better, as it ocassionally it sucks the bag shut right in front of the snout, and and won't draw any more air.
Sandraven - I too had that problems with the snout and found that by placing my fingertip on the corner of the snout and pushing just a little, it will open that bag enough to continue with the suction. Too much will puncture the bag so dont get too carried away.
SR - check out this link... LOTS of good info. About 2/3 of the way down is a post by Studly that talks of a company named CPT. Both he & I bought our bags thru them and are very pleased with the whole experience. Im sure they can answer your questions.
SR, if you put the nozzle closer to the food in the bag (maybe two millimeters from the food), that usually fixes the problem ... the bag won't close in front of the nozzle.
SandRaven, I also have the SINBO. What I've learned to do is take a piece of white paper towel and place it in front of the snout. (It get sealed with the item.) It also helps when you're vacuuming fresh meats as it will catch most juices.
Seeing how the SINBO does not have a moisture trap this is important.
BTW I went to your web-site...nice looking salmon!
Oldman, if you're going to freeze the sealed meat, partially freeze the meat first, then seal. The benefits are no lost juices and the bags don't smash the meat.
