wood pellet fuel

I found some wood fuel pellets on clearence, 40 lbs for $1.00

bag says:

made freom premium hardwood sawdust.

less than 1% ash

less than .02% fines.

can this be used for smoking?

I ran some in my grill, just to try it, and the smoke seemed ok.

Anyone have experience with these?

Will this work?

the brand is Lignetics.

I'm going to move this into the FE Forum as there are some great Pellet experts there.

There are different grades / processes and the heat pellets are not the same as food grade.

Really depends on what they bind it with. Their website does not say. Personally I would not use it until I knew more about it.

From the website, it does not appear to be the quality to prepare food with.
