i'm a newbie from whitefish, montana. my partner and i just ordered a pro pit smoker from texas. it will be delivered around the 8th of june. pro pits is willing to bring me a large quantity of wood (2 cords) as hardwoods are hard to come by in this part of the country. plenty of fir/larch which is great to build a log home with but that's about it. i have a choice of hickory, pecan or oak. i've told him to plan on all hickory because that's what i've used in the past. any advice on pecan or oak would be greatly appreciated. he also offered mesquite but i'm not a fan.
