Wood Selection - Brand/Where to buy?

Doubt if brand makes any difference. Species for some woods like oak seem to have differences to some folks.

I've bought most of my smoking woods at WalMart except for the oak that I have all over my back yard.

One of the folks from Oz put me onto Eucalyptus.. tried it and it worked fine. Surprised the heck out of me.

Not sure where you are.. but, I might even suggest contacting a tree trimming outfit and see if you can get them to save some oak, maple, apple, pecan, etc for you. Let it dry a few months and cut it into chunks.

If you have a Cookshack.. a little will last a LONG time. Heck, a five pound bag from WalMart lasts me almost a year when I mix it with woods from my yard.
