It depends on what part of the country you're in.
Me? I run with hickory.
In Texas, stay home if you ain't got mesquite.

Well Grape, you posted both your questions in the FEC forum, so I moved them to new places. Wood went to the wood section and the brisket I put in the brisket section.
Best wood is VERY subjective. What wood do you have available?
Me? I love Pecan with beef, sometimes mesquite and cherry for pork.

For brisket, I like pecan, maple and sometimes a little mesquite. For pork I like fruit woods, currently have cherry & peach.
