Picked up a 14lb brisket packer from a local butcher. Choice cut. Gonna use Smokin's 101 and CS brisket rub. Just wondering if I should just use the rub or start with some mustard or Worcestershire. Hopefully gonna put it in the smoker around 6 pm. Thanks.

I'm no expert, but have cooked with a couple guys that have dominated the event at comps.

They taught me to put the mustard on my bologna sandwich ,I was eating while doing the prep[and try not to spill any on the packer]
,and a little Lee & Perrin's woster can't hurt the packer.

They're cute when they're young, aren't they? Mine is black as a boot and I can't remember it ever being that shiny (but of course it was once)!
