First off, thanks to everyone who has posted in the past. I have learned a ton from everybody.

That said, recently acquired an ECB as a prize from work. Tried a few chickens and a corned beef. All were good. Stepped up to the butt this weekend.

9 1/2 lbs in at 2:30 AM, temp drop and run to the store for more charcoal at 7:30, keep temp steady and resisted peeking (learnd something huh?)till 2PM. Temp at 170+. Let go till 4:30 and wrapped and rested till 5:00.

Must say I impressed both the family and neighbors (and myself) for a 1 st try. Can't wait to try again.

Thanks again everyone for my lurking has made me much wiser and I am sure I will be a hit come tailgate season.
