Some great packages this go around.
Home made rubs look interesting.

The rubs finger tested really good. Can't wait to try them on some meat. We finished off one package of jerky last night. Today I brought the second package to work and had some sniffers come around asking if I had some smoked meat. Of course I shared. Big mistake. It's gone now.
Willy's smokehouse jerky is the best,Problem is all the jerky I make gets compared to Willy's and they have been doing it longer then I've been alive! Can't compete with that! There hams and bacon are awesome as well. Heck everything they make is top notch.
Willy's was delicious don't get me wrong. I prefer yours and here is why. Willy's takes a lot of effort to chew and break apart and is stringy. Some peopl like that. With yours it breaks down in your mouth quicker and still has a ton of smoke and spice flavor. It still reminds me of eating a tender steak. I prefer that over dry and stringy.
Good to know! Thanks!!!
Got a FAT box out here in Cali from Cal in the show me state!!! Thanks Cal!!! everything looks awesome...More info and a pic will follow just wanted you to know it survived the freeze and our horrible mail lady who routinely throws boxes like a Frisbee LOL
Just gave my box to our shipping department, will be going a little South and a little West, probably a Monday delivery by big Brown.

Early Christmas is right! Wilber you went way overboard. I am speechless. Well except for the terrible towel. How could you send that to a Charger fan?
Anyways, pictures will be posted soon. Already munching on some Jerky. It's a great day!
One hell of a package, I'm sure everyone else will feel cheated, but ya know, Karma has a way of working out. Thanks again for doing all the leg work on the exchanges.

Glad to hear that bottle of Blues Hog sauce didn't break. That stuff has a way of being real sticky.
After you have a chance to look the items over and think of a few questions, please feel free to PM me any questions about their use. Oh maybe not the one bottle of local sauce, that was my friends recommendation.

It sure does Cal! I hope everyone is having as much fun as I have putting this together. Look forward to seeing more pictures soon from the recipients.
Got my package from the "Exchange Daddy" today... (Padrefan98) and it survived the 16 degree temps we had. Since I have to pick up my pkgs a 1/4 mile down the road, I made a trip to check whether it arrived. The pkg survived the temps, I'm not sure I did...
Anyway it was a heck of a good surprise!! I've only dug into one of the jerky packs but it sure is good. My wife is a bit under the weather today and it's going to take real control to save some for her.
Thanks Padrefan98 (and some other member here on the list but I'll let you guess at that)

Looks like Tuesday delivery according to Big Brown.
Finally and I mean finally made it out of Dallas Texas last night back to Alabama and opened a great exchange box. Apparently due to the "gentle" handling it received during the shipping the return address was missing, so not sure who to thank. Padre if you could let me know please. I will try to post a pic this weekend, but I found out ice and snow does not mix well with cowboys. Thanks again can't wait to try my goodies!!

That would be me, once again I forgot to insert a note. Hopefully I packed it well enough so the sauce survived the "gentle" handling. Check your PM.

Thanks AndyJ This is a very generous box. I have already tasted and sniffed and I am liking what I see. Was hoping to use some this weekend, but my wife changed those plans. I can tell I will like them, thanks again. Stay warm up there.

PS: everything arrived in great shape, the outside of the box looked like it came from the moon, but ever thing inside was fine. Thanks again

That's awesome papasmurph! Extra points for the background in the photo!
I didn't know there was a Tiger Seasoning. Tiger Sauce is great, love that stuff. Will have to search this out and give it a try.

My package came today and I can't thank Cook One enough for the generous quantities of rub and sauce! It was -22 here this morning but I think the cold is finally pushing off so I can now be planning to use these fine products in the very near future.
Thanks Again Cook One!
I really like Perfect Bite & Blackjack Rubs! Cook One is the purveyor of the Perfect Bite rubs & Blackjack is a local Charleston favorite made by Jimmie Hagood. Happy smoking!

Big Ron's rubs are lower in salt so you can pile it on without over salting. Walkerswood Fire Stick will warm you up on those cold winter nights! Another great box!
Your welcome! Looks good!!
I'm sort of surprised at how few people participated in this, I think it was a lot of fun! I'm already planning what to send in the next round, if there is one.
Thanks a bunch for all your work on this, Padrefan98!

Sure thing Gil. Luckily there are several members who have shown an interest in another round. Should be sometime in the spring. It's pretty scary shipping packages in the winter, but it looks like it's worked out.
By the way, 80 degrees here in San Diego. Boy we pay to live here! And sometimes...sometimes it's worth every penny.

Yep, the wife came dragging it in the door and cursing the UPS guy for making her get out of the Escape and move the box...
She was easier with the language when her eyes found that bottle of Maple syrup.
Thanks Bubba!!! This isn't the first box that I've ever received from you, but it does look like a bigger assortment of BBQ items then ever before.
For those of you that don't know, Bubba and I have been friends since we both joined the forum and have exchanged gifts, thoughts, e-mails,recipes,etc...so this is really a special treat for me.
HEY Padrefan!, see I even changed out the fireplace for this special exchange...LOL!
E&L Fajita and steak seasoning
E&L chicken Fajita seasoning
E&L Lemon pepper seasoning

Michigan Maple Syrup
Pork jerky
Deer jerky

I hope you like the Jerky Cal, the E&l stuff is good on anything, the maple Syrup is the end of the season "Dark" good for smoking, go light on the pancakes. Looks like everything made it in one piece.

I thought you might look good with that Michigan State cooking wardrobe.
I am sorry that I didn't catch on that you were friends and have exchanged before. Sorry about that. Looks good though. And nice fireplace!

Not a problem at all, A comp cook gave me a few gallons of CS rub, so I shared with him, we also split a big package of Butcher's brisket and pork injection. Nothing like what we are doing now.
Just so you all know, I verified the bottle of
Professor Phardtpounders "Colon Cleaner"
Its the black labeled bottle with the red top. It really does exist.

I bought that about three months ago, just couldn't resist, I knew a well deserving soul would come around.

Cal,
Hope that works out for you!

I used my Squeels on wheels Kickin Chickin tonight. It was well received! The maple syrup is excellent. How should I use the maple sugar? Bacon?
