I just got finished reading a newsletter & part of another BBQ website and want to thank you all for doing such a wonderful job at informing folks about how to do great Q.

As I read through the other newsletter I kept thinking “this guy sure is an arrogant old cuss and sure doesn’t mind insulting someone in the process.” Then I went to the website and looked over some of the info he was dishing out. At times I wanted to scream “O’ contraire!!! It doesn’t work that way.”

One thing I had to keep in mind is that he’s using mainly stick-burners and most of us here at the CS forum are using electric. Even so, some of the advice he was dishing out was so vague and difficult to understand it was really bothering me.

Therefore… Even though it's a tad early, I just wanted to post a big Christmas / New Years “ Thank you ” to SmokinOkie and the good folks at Cookshack for running and keeping up such a fantastic & informative place to learn about BBQ, a place to help and assist all, despite their smokers & cooking background. Y’all are wonderful people & I wish the best for one and all in the coming year!!! Big Grin

God bless...

Yep,there are a lot of info sites, some forums, some support groups, some large and small.

Some are large and diverse, while others are a little narrow for many.

The good folks at Cookshack are the founders, the owners, and the family of folks that keep it all going.

The forum has a mandate to be a place to come with good will, good cheer,an open mind, and a sincere desire to help and share with new folks and longtime friends.

I suppose it was destiny that allowed the combination of Smokin'Okie with his knowledge, gentleman's ways, and willingness to share ,to develop this bond with such a fine family.

They have all been wonderful and like a family to me.

Hopefully,we can keep it this good for many more years.

Thanks Cool
I bought my Cookshack smoker in large part because of this website. I lived down south for a number of years and was very disappointed with what they call BBQ here in Connecticut. I wanted to do "Q" here is Ct, but I wanted it to be as good as I remembered down south. Thanks to the great product (the Cookshack) and the ever so helpful folks on this forum (too many to thank individually, I regularly turn out some fine BBQ to the delight of my friends, family and myself.
