I really like my Cookshack and have used it on a bunch of different cooks.

Before I got my CS I had no idea how tasty Butts and Briskets could be. My ribs were inedible at best.

Since the CS, Baby oh Baby on the Butts and Briskets. Ribs too but not quite the same. All in all the CS was worth every nickel.

However, I am a pretty inquisitive fellow and I always am looking for a better way, as they say, so I have been chasing around the Web for different ways to cook.

I have been all over the ceramic sites for a way to change my experience, and I found a BGE dealer near me of some repute.

I emailed him to see of the possibilities of obtaining one of his BGE's and mentioned how much I liked my CS.

He emailed back that while the BGE did have some other capabilities, he thought that Cookshacks were "the best pure smoker out there".

The way I see it, kudos like that are hard to come by.

I have both the CS and a BGE. I like them for different reasons. While the BGE claims to be a smoker, I find that my use of it is much more like a grill. The BGE is great for grilling, something you can't do with a CS, and for turkey. My wife likes the ribs on the Egg better, I don't find enough difference to care. For low and slow cooks like brisket and butts, however, I do prefer the CS.
parkside.

I too have a Grill Dome & a CS 009. the Grill Dome uses lump charcoal (& wood if you want to),I am like smokemullet & Belly Buster,I too have certain meats that I like to grill on the Grill Dome,A ceramic grill or smoker doe's give a different flavor.I love both of mine & the forums for both, they both have a lot of great people who are willing to help & share info & recipes no matter what you cook, grill,or smoke with, because we all have a lot in common,we all love great smoked QUE.BAM
