KELP! My Perfect Provider brought me 2 very long fronds of fresh Ribbon Kelp. Now, I know you all are the Meat and Beans types and I also know you will not be in the least bit inclined to do this...but too bad. Gonna tell ya anyway!

Cut the fronds into 4X4" squares and racked them on my jerky racks. Smoke/Dried for 2 1/2 hours on 155 with one small chunk of applewood. Dried to perfection! It is delicious! Doing two more CS50 loads today.

I don't use kelp as a "health nut food". I genuinely love it! Hey! When the Tide Is Out, The Table Is Set! Being so far inland has severly restricted my beach foraging. This kelp came up clean on a big boat anchor. I was very glad to receive it. You eat about a quarter pound of that stuff raw and you will feel like Mighty Man or Wonder Woman! It contains every known nutrient in the human body. I've eaten kelp all my life.

I can use the sheets like Nori for sushi...if I wanted. But, I don't care much for sushi, so I flake it and add to stews, soups, broths, stocks, and mix it with other yummy things for my own homemade seasonings.

I also pickled two quarts in a white vinegar/shoyu/chili paste affair. This I can't keep my chopsticks out of! Wonderful!

So, CS Nation! Aren't ya gettin' a little bored with Briskets and Butts? You'd think you guys would have them down by now! HA!

A CS is only as good as it's Mistress! Big Grin
