I'm pulling into town on Friday for some business I have to do starting Sunday. My plan was to either go to the Royal on Saturday, or to check out some BBQ joints. I also have two front row tickets to Steve Winwood on Saturday night, my buddy backed out so I have an extra ticket...the company paid for it, so if anyone is interested let me know.
Make sure you look up Stuart (CS President) and Fast Eddy. FE's rig is hard to miss.

If you don't know any teams, then all you'll do is walk around and look. Not much if any tasting. They did sell tasting kits last year for the first time, but I wouldn't go just for those.
It's fun to walk and see the rigs, certainly go up and talk. A few might invite you in if you smile right. They have some booths inside (a few) and outside they usually have Sauce booth set up to buy sauce (where you can taste before you buy)
It's probably worth a walk through, but I'd make dinner plans elsewhere. The Golden Ox is real close but crowded during the Royal week.

I am heading down on Wed mostly to browse, we are going to stay in Independence Mo.
After they ran that special on the food channel, about great BQ places, we decided we just have to go down and check it out.

Wife and I will be judging meats at noon on Saturday. American Royal is a good thing.
