I have a new FEC 500. This is my second mobile unit. I have never seen this before. Twice now, during long cooks, (12 + hours ) my smoker shuts down and the I.Q.4 read out shows 8 black squares and the code 999_ . What the heck is that? Any thoughts??? Is there a high temp limit switch or something that could be tripping? When I start @ 1-2 a.m. it's all good ( outside temp about 40 degrees)

O.k. called customer service they sent me a whole new board for the I.Q.4 AND some " voltage scrubbers" little resistors designed to eliminate any background radio signals like those of cell phone towers and static interference. A BIG thanks to Bill @ cookshack tech support. We still dont know what the 999 code is but I'm sending the old board back to Bill so they can run a diagnosis. Will keep you posted incase someone out there has this problem in the future.
