auger clicking

for no known reason, and no decrease in function, my auger is making a very noticeable click as it is turning, almost like it is hitting something,,, any ideas on what might have happened, or how to look at it more closely

Mine does the same thing, i think it was from the pellets i have been using. I think what you hear is the longer pellets being snapped by the auger

Fast Freddie/Love Shack BBQ (Guest)

I got a load of cherry pellets that were about 1.5 inches long. I noticed the noise, but realized it was the auger breaking the pellets into smaller pieces.
