Auger problems

Best bet would be call service right now and get Tony ,or one of the other folks.They can troubleshoot you by steps and get right to the solution.

They don't monitor these forums,as often.

The rest of us may take a couple days to get back to you,and then have to start guessing.

check the shear pin. If it broke, the auger won't rotate. It happens when something (like a hard pellet) gets lodged in there.

You have to open it up and look inside where the auger connects.

This brought to mind a question. Are there some replacement items like shear pins that we should carry with us? If so, what would you recommend?

thanks guys, I think I may have found the problem, I think the auger is filled with wet pellets. We were cooking in a monsoon here and believe everything got wet. I will be in Little Rock, look forward to meeting new faces and seeing old ones. If the pellets are not the problem, can I get that pin from a hardware store?

yeah, I've heard guys doing that.

HOWEVER....

If you got wet pellets in the auger and they've dried, you'll have the dreaded PelletCrete and it's a PAIN to remove.

Get to the auger and remove it ASAP, if it's dry, then it's all muscle.
