MY IGNITER JUST QUIT ALSO? I USED ALCOHAL AND GOT THE SMOKE DONE YESTERDAY THOUGH. I WIL CALL TOMOROW, BUT WAS WONDERING IS THEIR ANYTHING I CAN TRACE AND OR CHECK BEFORE TOMOROW. ALSO, IT IS A NEW ONE, JAN 09 BUILD DATE, AND I HAVE USED IT 20 TIMES, EACH TIME POWERWASHING THE INSIDE AND VACUMING OUT THE RESIDUE AFTER WASH, STARTING UNIT AND LETTING IT GET TO HEAT TO DRY SYSTEM OUT AND THEN PUT COVER ON. COULD THE MOISTURE LEAD TO THE IGNITER GOING OUT EARLY? THANKS OKIE

WHY powerwash? You put all that good seasoning on the stainless.

Dont worry about it getting dirty, it's a smoker.

Just take the racks OUT and powerwash them if you must (I do mine about every 2 weeks or so)

Water can affect the insulation, but a power washer can affect other things (like the therm or the pot, get water in there on the ignitor)

I just wouldn't
Well, my brand new FE300 did not work when it arrived. It took 20 hours of service calls to figure out my Fire Box was faulty and replaced it after two igniters were replaced and failed. They kept at it until it worked on mine, but we suffered way too much downtime until then.

Contact Cookshack and let them know so that they can get to the bottom of this. They should be able to work with you to make it right. I am reading of a lot of faulty igniters, so it looks like something they really need to get on and FIX in a big way, not just everyones individual problem.
