What seems to be the going price for lean meaty BB/LB ribs.

My local grocery was selling at 2.25/# but they looked like fatback on a stick.

I have access to the box stores BJ/Sams/Costco
but their products 3.50-4.50/# have shiners and have a very high looking fat to meat ratio.

Did find a local sausage/deli/pork store that was selling good looking BBR'S from a producer in Clinton NC. by the name Lundy's. Anyone fimilar with this supplier and their products?

Thanks for the help.

Lundy's USE to be the top seller in the NC region. They jumped in on "The Other White Meat" campaign. We spoke with a rep a year ago and they are trying to get back to realpig. We ordered pork from them a few times did not care for it. It was better than Farmland, but not by much. If you see SUPER white fat--avoid it like the plague.
If you are in the NC area look for Carolina Pride products. Their ribs are second to none.

Tom is correct. These places do not inject/fortify the meats that they sell, but many of the companies that they buy the meats they sell, do. I would not worry about who injects and who doesn't---most do inject. Look at what/how the animals they buy/slaughter are fed. Typing paper white fat is a sign. That will tell you that these hogs have been fed to be LEAN. That is not a GOOD thing for pork. The COLOR of the fat will tell you just about everything that you need to know. If you will look at that and look for a brownish/yellow tint (offwhite) color then you are dealing with pork that has been fed right and will have falvor---no need to enhance with solutions---some still do. If you Look at a pack of Carolina pride bacon--you will see that coloring and it is a very fatty bacon and ususally a cheaper brand to purchase. Because of the fattyness. It is never enhanced/injected and taste like homegrown hogs. You should really try to contact MNhogfarmer (here on the board) and let him tell you in a more intelligble manner of what I am talking about.
I am telling you that you are better going the CP route than the Lundy route.IMO

Wrenchead' "what is IBP?"

When I used to sell my hogs to them, we thought IBP stood for "Itty Bitty Paycheck", but it's actually Iowa Beef Processors. I now sell to Morrell; IBP turned into real pricks to sell to.

They were bought out by Tyson a few years back.

As Tom and others have stated, they are good loin back ribs, we use them too.

Avoid buying "Rose's Ribs, they are NG.
gotta go with zeb on this one.
try to get carolina pride packed ribs if you can. on average i cook 10 to 12 cases of these a week where i work part time. no shiners, no injection, consistant quality. now if i could just get the owner to quit using the 4 1/2ups i would be happy. darn tricky to cook but i guess that's why he pays me so good Razzer
