Howdy folks. Tonight is my last night on my low residue, tasteless diet. Tomorrow I am re-joining the ranks of bbqr's and am already wetting myself in anticipation of some beautiful pork spareribs I picked up today. I can hardly wait to smell the aroma again from a CS at work (or play). I don't believe I have ever used any dry rubs other than CS or Texas Rib Ranger's, but this time I am going to try "Barbecue of the Americas" put out by Penseys Spices. I don't know what to expect, but it should be interesting since this rub has allspice, nutmeg, thyme, ginger and cinnamon in addition to the traditional spices. I'll let you know whether I ruin the ribs, or if they turn out well.

It's nice to be back, but I have been checking the forum for new information daily.

The ribs turned out very well using the new rub. They had a nice wang to them, as well as good flavor. In my original message I incorrectly spelled Penzeys. This company does have some wonderful spice blends from around the world if anyone is interested, and no, I don't own shares in the company. In particular, I like their Northwoods Fire Seasoning for grilling purposes. Their web site is www.penzeys.com for those who might be interested. Have a nice day.
