This year's judges are Myron Mixon, Tuffy Stone & Aaron Franklin - all qualified judges.

Last night's episode was all about BBQ (well, sorta) with no crazy pitfire challenges. The 3 teams were given SRF Waygu brisket and Tri Tip. The winning team started his Tri Tip on the grill, wrapped and finished it on his pit, taking it to 200+F. He sliced his turn-ins WITH the grain. He won. (insert roll-eyes smily here)

I caught some mistakes along the way, mis-information mainly. Haven't had enough coffee to remember them all.

Stay tuned...could be an interesting season.

I've got it recorded and will watch it shortly. However, if tri tip is taken much over 140*, it gets tough. Can't figure how 200* made it. Maybe it goes through a plateau and gets tender again. Couldn't tell you for sure. I'm always in the 130* range with tri tip.
