If you are discarding the chicken skin when the product is finished, is there really a taste benefit to rubbing the chicken in the rub? Just seems like it all comes off with the skin....

I like the skin, but if you're gonna throw it away, try to get the rub under the skin....
i will ususally just eat the skin when it is hot so the rub benifits, but when it is cold and I discard the skin I see no benefit to haveing rubbed.
You can also put some rub on the inside of whole or half chickens. The flavor seems to soak thru the inner membrane more than the skin.
