Well, I have read alot about everyone's experience with the mysterious Big Bang from their CS's...but I just figured I was one of those that wasn't going to experience that part of CS ownership..
Until I put 6 slabs of ribs in this morning..set it at 225 and went back in the house to get other things done.
About an hour later I thought someone had ran their vehicle into my house....not much of a vibration could be felt , but since the Smokette is just inside my garage..you should have heard how loud it was..
Only thing I could have done diffrently than all the other times was a little more wood in the smokebox....other than that , I cant figure out why it waited 13 months before it banged??

Well, the ribs came out just as good as they ever were...cant see any evidence that the bang hurt the Smokette.
As Smokin has suggested before, I threw the brisket flaps (5 of them) in with the ribs, and took them out , diced em up, and added to the beans I prepared.
Woodburner, you said that when yours popped you found it smokin away as if nothing happened...when mine went off today, I found it smokin its tail off....I mean ALOT of smoke coming out of it....solid white plumes ....thats why I thought that the amount of wood was the cause.....used just a bit over 4 oz. .....I usually use about 2 or 2.5
