Black Walnut

Ive havent tried it myself but it must be popular enough that they make black walnut in pellet form.

I'm no expert,but I'd say make some furniture.

I thought I heard of a guy,20-30 years ago,that had an acceptable experience cooking with a black walnut tree,to go along with all the horror stories-but I never could actually find him.

Does this mean mahogany won't work either. Give the black walnut a try on a smaller piece of meat and see how it does.

Yep,do a good low and slow on a brisket ,then maybe feed it to that pesky in law,you were hoping might not come back.

For that scenario, go with MDF.

Walnut/Black Walnut will get bitter FASTER than mesquite ever thought of. I'd sell it to a wood-worker.
