The day is here, 2 butts rubbed with mustard, Dinosaur rub, injected with Lupo's Spiedie sauce, 4 ozs of hickory in the box, 8pm and they're in the ST. I'm not plugging in the thermometer till morning as I won't see it anyway while I sleep. I will report more tomorrow. Dj
You better send pictures!!! It smells good.

UPDATE....
We have been in the smoker now for 13 hours and are hovering at 150 F for about 2 hours. Smoker temp is 214 and it SMELLS GREAT!!! Dang, I'm gonna have to put my smoker way down back so I can't smell it doin its thing. My mouth is watering!!!! More to come......

UPDATE II...
Here it is, 8pm and we are at 170 internal temp, 228 smoker temp. So the wife and I had leftover meatloaf sandwiches, slaw and rice. Butts are still smokin!!!!! More later. Dj

THANKS for the info. I will have to go get some. I have never seen them priced that low here. $1.29lb is usually as cheap as I can get them. Although I did get some for 1.05lb at Sams a couple weeks back.

WOW.. again.. how come there is such a difference in the price of pork on the mid-west vs the west.. how unfair can it get??

Smokenque, we are flatlanders here in Western Ohio and raise lotsa little piggies. So pork is a plenty here. The closer you are to the source, the cheaper it usually is. But look on the bright side........it cost you a fraction of what it cost me to watch the sun set over the ocean!

SmokinOkie, It is awesome! I may be partial to that flavor, butt it is real good. Fed some to my son's girl and she was very impressed!

About how much spedie sauce did you inject? I have a few bottles of Salamida's that I wouldn't mind spicing up a butt with. Any advice will help.

I injected 2 injectors full into each butt and this just gave a hint of the taste. I use the small injectors that come free with the bottle of sauce. Hope this helps. Dj
