Cabelas Smokette

I ordered a smokette from cabelas on Jan. 3rd. While placing the order, a message popped up and said the item was backordered until Jan. 4th. Jan 7th I called to check on the item and it was backordered til the 18th. Now here it is the 19th, called to check again and they are telling me Feb. 8th. Cabelas is blaming this on cookshack, but either way I'm frustrated. Ha, sorry for the nonsense rave thread. Not sure what I expected to accomplish out of this, but my wife will just tell me that it will come when it comes. Figured atleast ya'll would understand.

cronyism is thinking of the same place that I was. I've ordered from them before and they were very fast and pleasant to deal with. I ordered a Maverick E-73, two 10 pound boxes of wood and a cover for my 55. I ordered it on Wednesday at 2pm and it was here on Thursday (mostly because I live pretty close to them).

I ordered a Smokette 009 on December 31 direct from Cookshack as a gift. Thinking I should have received some kind of response I finally called them. It was only after I called thet they told me they would have no units available until January 21.
So, at least Cabela's let you know when you ordered that they didn't have any units. In my case I might have looked around more if I had known (when I ordered) that they were not deliverable in time for a birthday gift.

I was lucky I have a cabelas 4 miles from my house they had six 009 in sock. went back a week later to buy more stuff and they had one. in stock it hard to keep a nice product in stock when cookshack is about the best you can buy, I hope you get it soon and have some fun

Definitely the kid in me. My wife and I have a 14 month old son and are due for our little girl this coming thursday. One of the reasons I'm a little frustrated. . .Ordered the smoker in plenty of time to do a little playing, but now I won't get it until after the baby comes and there will be more important priorities for a while.

That may have sounded bad...Couldn't be happier about the upcoming addition to our family, the frustration is all with cabelas. Roll Eyes

Just on the line with cabelas complaining about the service, meanwhile the rep is telling me that they have the masterbuilts and bradleys in stock with good quantity. Wow! I'm not impressed.

Now asking about the model 50 and they aren't even willing to give it to me for the $100 dollar cheaper price that was offered when I ordered my smokette.

I sure am glad I have all you internet smoking buddies that can feel my pain. HA! Thanks for listening to my drama guys. (I feel like my wife)

I was in the same boat...ordered an Amerique in November from charcoalstore, it was backordered, got it last week. Trust me, it was worth the wait. Very impressed with the construction, absolutely first rate. First few smokes have been great. If anybody out there is on the fence regarding a cookshack, relax: it's a fantastic product. It's worth the money. Even if you have to wait.

Alright, well I did it! With little help and lots of frustration from the cabelas customer service, I cancelled my order. I then replaced an order for the 008 from charcoal store and it will be here thursday, which will hopefully be my next childs birthday. Big Grin Two presents in one day!!! WHOA!!!!

Hopefully be posting pics of my first smoked butt in no time.

Hello again everyone!

Came home with my new daughter today to a whole box full of smoking glory. Beautiful little girl with a head full of brown hair. Weighing in @ 6lbs 13oz and 19in long. Born on 1/24/08 @ 1:18pm.

I've got one of my new girls in the crib napping, while the other is outside seasoning up. Hope everyone has a fantastic rest of the weekend.
