billyq,

Tom's suggestion about Carolina sauces is a good one. That being said ...

Serving size 2 Tbsp.
Spicy Barbecue Sauce 6g carb, 3g sugar
Mild Barbecue Sauce, 11g carb, 5g sugar

Spicy Barbecue Sauce is fine for diabetics, if used in moderation as part of a healthy eating plan. It's the sugar that you need to keep an eye on, not necessarily the carbs. And, of course, they are both fat free, which is a big concern for diabetics. (Guess who else is diabetic?)

Both sauces are very flavorful and a little goes a long way. I can put 1 Tbsp. on a serving of meat and it is enough. I usually just put it on the side and dip my fork in it before I put meat on the fork. Like you do with salad dressing ...
